Product Marketing – Unica (Pivotal Veracity Solution)

Unica Pivotal Veracity is expanding and looking for a Product Marketer. Your responsibilities include managing all aspects of marketing email deliverability management and digital content rendering solutions inclusive but not limited to content generation, thought-leadership, ongoing blogging, new product/release announcement, whitepapers, case studies, sales enablement, plus a myriad of other related communication efforts. You will be expected to work closing with Product Management to deliver winning products. Responsibilities also include working with sales, marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Marketing position includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals. Key responsibilities include:
• Working with product management team to define product go-to-market plans
• Building strong working knowledge of key customers and products, to aid messaging, sales and marketing efforts
• Working with sales operations on sales enablement activities and deliverables including sales collateral and other effective sales tools, training materials, training sessions, etc.
• Support sales team in the pursuit of business as a subject matter expert including answering questions, suggesting appropriate positioning & messaging, joining pursuit team when needed
• Maintain a constant flow of communications to our customer base and industry
• Co-own marketing plan and work with marketing communications and lead generation teams to execute
• Gather market intelligence to support product management with new features or solutions
• Represent Unica in evangelism and lead generation activities: conferences, webcasts, etc.
• Serve as marketing lead cross-functional product launch teams
• Take primary responsibility for pricing of assigned products
• Work with internal competitive and market analyst team to generate appropriate competitive intelligence and marketing intelligence resources
2010 Deliverables include:
o A minimum of 5 blog post per month
o A minimum of 5 article mentions or bylines per quarter
o A minimum of 1 speaking engagement per quarter
o Work with industry analyst and influencers to leverage intelligence or position positively for our brand
o Develop plan for and execute brand equity transfer from Pivotal Veracity to Unica
o Building out supporting materials for solutions – blog post, sales decks, website content, solution definitions, case studies, etc.
o Update content for the Unica website
o Define and develop thought-leadership material
Key Responsibilities:
Market/business analysis (Est. 15% of time and effort)
• Understand product buyers and how they buy, users and influencers to develop messaging, and sales/marketing approaches
• Monitor industry analysts, competitors, customers, sales engagements, etc. to identify marketing gaps and opportunities
• Develop market opportunity assessments for products as an input to business planning
• Document use cases
Product Marketing (~60%)
• Develop marketing content including messaging, sales presentations, web site content, implementation diagrams, competitive comparisons, etc,
• Working closely with the AR and PR teams, maximize and influence coverage by industry analysts, press, and other thought leaders
• Recycle insight from the field, customers and partners back into messaging, market opportunity assessments, etc.
• Identify usable material and create interesting thought-leadership
Sales Support (~25%)
• Be a trusted resource for sales managers, ADRs and solution consultants to leverage in critical sales situations
